Dear Polish movie friends,
I have no idea if I am on the right website or in the right field on this forum, however, I am taking my chances and would like to ask you a favour. Apologies if my request stated below should not be here!
I am a Czech professional translator (books, contracts, subs, dubbing, you name it), currently I am working on the subs for the Polish movie CHEMO. Our studio has no Polish-Czech translator (no, it honestly does not) and I keep getting Polish movies because I come from near the Polish border and at least get the gist of what is said... The materials provided for translation are in English (i.e. I get English subs in the template).
I guess several of you already feel what the trouble is: Sometimes I can pretty surely discern that the EN translation is not accurate, not even correct, but at the same time fail to fully understand the Polish original. Hence I would appreciate if somebody could basically tell me (rewrite to me) the moments/parts I struggle with. So far, I have only come across one such scene (basically two sentences), but I am only halfway through and there might be more such instances.
Is there anyone who has that movie at the ready and would be willing to help me out?
